Loughborough town centre has been shortlisted for the Best Shopping Experience in the Leicestershire Promotions 2018 Tourism & Hospitality Awards following an application by Love Loughborough BID. The application showcased the diversity of shopping with big national brands within The Rushes and Carillon Court mixed within quaint and unique independent stores found around Church gate and Wards End. With great eateries, pubs, shows at the Town Hall and two cinema's Loughborough has so much to offer for a market town - obviously not forgetting the award-winning market ! Overton Poetry Prize

Overton Poetry Prize 2018 In memory of Professor Bill Overton (1946-2012), the School of the Arts, English and Drama offers this prize for a sequence of poems on any subject, up to 300 lines. The first-placed entry will be published in chapbook form.  100 copies will be published, of which the winning poet will receive 50. Two runners-up will each receive £50 book tokens.
