Good for bargains, local foods and vintage items. Street markets on Thursday and Saturdays and Vintage Market on Fridays. Look out for speciality street food, evening and Christmas markets.

Good for comedy, music, theatre, cinema, arts and events at Loughborough Town Hall, Fearon Hall, cinemas and escape rooms.

Tranquil Queen’s Park

Good for picnics, relaxing and chilling out. Home to the Carillon Tower, Charnwood Museum, bowling green, Victorian bandstand and children’s play area. A great outdoor venue for events.

Active Town Centre

Good for skating at Southfield’s Skate Park, a full array of activities at Loughborough Leisure Centre and rock climbing at the Climbing Station.

Eating Out

The town is good for indulging and socialising. From infamous pizzas, award winning restaurants to scrumptious cafes, delis and bistros. World cuisine, quality restaurants, modern street food and cosy cafes make Loughborough a gastronomic feast.

Shopping

Good for boutique, independent and unique shops complimenting an eclectic mix of national chains. Our shopping centres are all within easy walking distance of each other and of course there’s plenty to explore at the weekly markets.

Events and celebrations

Renowned for the annual Loughborough Fair which takes over the town centre every November, Christmas celebrations as well as lots of community fairs and festivals to enjoy, there’s plenty to celebrate in Loughborough.

Nights Out

Great for dancing, parties, gigs and socialising, you can party the night away until 4am if you choose to! Head to Baxter Gate and the Rushes for late night party fun.

Relaxing Riverside

Enjoy the Grand Central Canal as well as world cuisine, cocktails and fitness by the Waterside at Loughborough Wharf.

Step back in time

Explore Loughborough’s fascinating heritage with a train ride on the Great Central Railway, visit the Old Rectory Museum and All Saint’s Parish Church, or the Carillon Tower and War Memorial Museum in Queen’s Park. Also in Queen’s Park is Charnwood Museum, where you can discover the history of the area including the fascinating Charnwood Forest and Charnia Fossil.

With the surrounding countryside of Charnwood Forest, Loughborough has so much to discover, you’ll need more than a day to explore it all!

Loughborough Retail Market

Every Thursday & Saturday – 8am to 4pm

Loughborough’s award winning retail market has been part of the town’s history for almost 800 years and is rich in character, atmosphere and colour. The market stalls sell an eclectic range of products from fresh produce through to confectionary, clothing to household goods.

In 2017 the Loughborough Retail Market won the Best Large Outdoor Market of the Year award.

Loughborough Vintage Market

Every Friday – 9am to 4pm

A popular, bustling and interesting market which has around 40 stalls offering an excellent selection of antiques, books and second hand collectors items for sale.

The market also offers members of the public the opportunity to sell their unwanted household items.
