The first big screen event is coming to Loughborough to show the Wimbledon finals!
\nWimbledon fortnight is upon us, which means it\u2019s time to limber up, pour a glass of\u00a0Pimm\u2019s, feast on\u00a0strawberries and cream, and enjoy plenty of\u00a0world class tennis.<\/p>\n
If you missed out on the ballot for tickets this time round, fear not, because you don\u2019t\u00a0have to be relegated to the sofa and\u00a0glued to a small TV screen.<\/p>\n
Love Loughborough BID is to host a big screen sporting event in Market Place on Sunday 14th\u00a0July 2019. With live coverage of the Wimbledon Men\u2019s Finals beamed onto a big\u00a0screen, Loughborough Market Place aims to offer a relaxed, comfortable experience accompanied by a selection of beers and cocktails \u2013 or even the option to bring your own picnic.<\/p>\n
The 11m2\u00a0big screen will be bought into the town centre to show Wimbledon\u2019s three final matches, which will include the mixed doubles finals, the wheelchair finals and the men\u2019s single finals.<\/p>\n
The event will start and 11.30am and is anticipated to finish at approximately 8pm once the matches are all completed. Local businesses will be bringing in \u2018pop up\u2019 refreshment bars to be served throughout the matches. With a Pimm\u2019s & Prosecco Bar, courtesy of The Griffin, and a Cocktail & Mocktail bar, courtesy of Slider Town, you can almost imagine cheering on the finalists from Centre Court. If you are more of a real ale fan then grab a pint from Loughborough & North Leicestershire CAMRA Pub of the Year 2019, The Organ Grinder (Blue Monkey Brewery).<\/p>\n
Slider Town will also have some of their delicious Sliders on sale for too for anyone that feels a bit peckish alongside traditional Wimbledon favourites of strawberries & cream & scones with jam from Murdoch\u2019s. Market Place trader John Ashford will also be on site selling his delicious coffee, teas and ice creams.<\/p>\n
