Philip Larkin Centenary Events
Poet, Philip Larkin was a regular visitor to Loughborough – his mother lived for over 20 years on York Road. The first event is a FREE afternoon walk around Loughborough, based around places Eva Emilie Larkin would have known, and looking at [a few of the!] changes since her death in 1977.
Local historian Lynne will be leading the walk, and will be accompanied by Philip Pullen, a Larkin researcher and a Trustee of the Philip Larkin Society, and supported by Loughborough University.

The second event is a FREE early-evening talk, which is taking place at the university, and will be delivered by Philip Pullen. The title of the walk is: ‘Dearest Old Creature: the life of Eva Emilie Larkin’, and draws on Philip Pullen’s research, and letters written between Larkin and his mother. Booking for this event is via EventBrite. Please see below for the link 👇
