Love Loughborough BID E-Commerce website now live – FREE for Loughborough BID Members

Love Loughborough BID is delighted to announce the new online sales and delivery platform is now up and running successfully. is a brand new, low-cost, online local marketplace created jointly by the BID exclusively for the local business community. The website allows you to sell products and services to customers more effectively – particularly during the challenges of coronavirus and changing customer habits.

  • MORE EXPOSURE – local businesses together under a single ‘banner’ enables cross merchandising and selling between businesses and catalyses impulse purchases across several shops in the way a trip to the high street does.
  • IT WORKS – launched in Bristol at the peak of the coronavirus the service is proven to be successful – the potential is huge.
  • STRONGER TOGETHER – local businesses working together means helping each other – this approach will support the local economy as a whole, by helping sales in all local independents and thus recycling economic benefits (60% more than money spent in large corporate businesses such as the high street chains)

This is subsidised by Love Loughborough BID for BID members who will pay only 1.5% commission on sales (and of course nothing if they sell nothing). Typically, online systems such as these will cost around 10% of sales, plus set up and ongoing costs.

In addition, the sales platform will benefit from all of the BID’s social media outlets which are well established and thus will be working to generate traffic from day one for the site.


Each trader has their own dedicated ‘shop’ in the website. All data is stored securely on the site with all payment details processed by Stripe or Unyfi – both nationally recognised payment systems. The administrative system for business owners has been designed for speed and efficiency. There is complete flexibility for individual shops to set opening hours, delivery times, minimum order values, change product offers in accordance with the seasons, create promotions, adjust pricing to reflect trading conditions and stock, and have direct liaison with customers. The back office system supports businesses with managing orders including utilising in built route planning for efficient delivery scheduling.


We aim to get businesses online as soon as possible. Please fill out the registration form and we can then help you create your business profile and upload details of your products and services. New businesses will feature in our campaigns and you will have comprehensive support from the technical team when needed via phone and email.

There is a robust Marketing Campaign which includes advertising at key locations (such as Tesco Shelthorpe & the Leicester Road digital screen), media exposure (BBC Leicester, Fosse Radio), promotional merchandise (posters, fliers, window stickers) plus our usual social media promotion.

Every business who creates a ‘Shop’ on the site will have profiled promotion and links from the Love Loughborough business directory directly to your ‘shop’

If you already have a e-commerce site then you still benefit by creating a directory listing on the shop with links to your own existing online shop, gaining you double exposure.

We love the ease-of-use of the #wearebs3 website. We were able to get our page and products set up in no time at all. I see this website being a great asset to businesses with no web-presence, in terms of being able to start selling online quickly and easily. It will also benefit businesses like ours who already have e-commerce websites as it gives the opportunity to reach new customers. We’re really excited to see more local businesses joining in! The idea of wearebs3 was immediately appealing to us especially in these current times, to be able to take orders quickly and efficiently not only to local customers but to those slightly further afield in Bristol who may not know about the shop. The extra bonus is being able to link in with all the other amazing shops in BS3 and allow so many more people to shop easily from multiple retailers in one basket. We have been used as a pilot shop and as the orders have come in we have found them easy to deal with and the customers have given us great feedback. The back-end side of the site is easy to use and allows us to enter our stock levels which is really helping us maintain a great availability.
