Songster - Loughborough's own war horse

Author Alison Mott and illustrator Liz Waddell share the story of how they became involved in creating the picture book about a real horse from Loughborough who went to war. They explore the challenges and responsibilities of telling historical stories ethically, simply and in a way suitable for children, and how words and pictures can work together to bring the past to life.
