Major Street Arts Festival to Come to Loughborough.
Arts Fresco is one of the largest free street arts festivals in the UK and takes place annually in Market Harborough. Every year it surprises and delights thousands of Harborough residents and visitors with a wide selection of lively, engaging and often anarchic street entertainment. This year, we’ll be treated to a sample of the mayhem, with a reduced version of the festival right here in Loughborough.
On Saturday 19th February, expect the unexpected when ‘Arts Fresco presents… Laughborough’ takes the town by storm. With an eccentric mix of exciting, weird and wonderful entertainment, featuring marauding Vikings, record breaking bubbles, live music and a 70s disco-pop-sporting combo, this is an event not to be missed.
Artistic Director, Neil Kitson says that ‘the aim of this programme is to offer a mix of street theatre experience to the people of Loughborough: energy, engagement awe and wonder.’
Lisa Brown, BID Manager, said: “We are really looking froward to welcoming Arts Fresco and the ‘Laughborough’ to Loughborough. Adults, children and families can enjoy some half term fun with live entertainment and some fun free activities in the town centre.
“Don’t forget the Beehive Car Park is offering free parking for an hour and free parking all day on Sundays, so why not take advantage of this and enjoy a spot of retail therapy or even maybe a lunch or and ice cream to take advantage of this extra saving?”
Experience ‘Arts Fresco Presents…Laughborough’, Saturday 19th February, 10.30-3pm in Loughborough Town Centre.

Vikings Return to Claim Stolen Gold.
From The Elgin Marbles to the Mummy of Tutankhamun argument of ownership have raged over the centuries. Now it seems that Charnwood Museum is to be drawn into the fight. For years they have been the custodians of some beautiful Anglo-Saxon brooches, found in the Sileby area. These would have belonged to high-status people, dating from around the 6th century AD.
Well, it seems these high-status people want them back and have dispatched two Viking Bezerkers to lay claim.
What’s more they intend to free Loughborough from Tory rule and bring them back into Danelaw.
See Val and Halla and join in the fun at ‘Arts Fresco Presents…Laughborough’, Saturday 19th February, 10.30-3pm in Loughborough Town Centre.
